Welcome to Malnati & Associates
Malnati & Associates

A Little Bit About Us
Malnati & Associates has a very flat organizational structure. We're a network of closely knit service providers who work cooperatively to get the job done. That helps us respond quickly and cost-effectively to our clients' needs.

Most of us have been working together for almost a decade. Some of us have worked side-by-side for almost 2 decades. That makes us a powerful team. Here is some background on our key associates.

Peggy Malnati, Associate
With almost 20 years of experience in the global industrial/business-to-business marketing arena, Peggy has been providing clients with a wide range of high-level consulting, writing, and creative direction since 1984. Her specialties include strategic counsel on technology-transfer issues, new-technology launches, training programs, electronic media, technical writing, speakers' programs, and media relations. She has directed communications activities in the chemicals, plastics, silicones, composites, adhesives, rubber, and abrasives industries. Her work has appeared in scores of trade publications, technical and business journals, encyclopedias, websites, databases, and textbooks. Peggy has also provided writing support for several important U.S. patents and, in 1994, co-authored a book with two of GE's top scientists entitled Structural Analysis of Thermoplastic Components, published by McGraw-Hill. She is a former Founder, Principal, and Director of Technical Communications with Allison, Hull, & Malnati, Inc., where she also managed the company's Detroit Division.

Peggy is an active member of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) and the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), sitting on advisory boards within both organizations. She also co-chairs an annual technical session for the SAE World Congress & Exposition, the world's largest technical automotive conference.

In her leisure time, Peggy is a Master Gardener, Master Composter, Master Recycler, environmental educator, public speaker, and sits on several civic advisory boards. She is also a lifelong organic gardener, loves to hike, camp, and kayak, dig in the dirt, and play with her cats.

Dave Gayman, Associate
Dave has provided business-to-business and technical communications since 1980, working from both sides of several different “desks.” He's been a corporate marcom manager, a trade-press editor (Manufacturing Engineering Magazine), a video scriptwriter, a PR agency executive, a marketing consultant, and a freelance supplier. He's done award-winning work on subjects as diverse as recording media, composite materials, surgical equipment and disposables, and mechanical-engineering design software. He's currently fascinated by biomedical domains, but retains a strong interest in colors and pigments, engineered materials, design, and a wealth of other areas, including the one for which you want some help.

Dave's leisure pursuits include thinking about and enjoying the wit, intelligence, and balance of Kittie, his wife since 1963; and (in decent weather) canoeing the more placid waters of the Northeast United States. He's done what he can with classical music, including building and trying to learn to play a harpsichord. But if you're buying, he'll go to any concert.

Jill Peterson, Associate
A former graphic designer for Ford Motor Company, Jill has run her own design group since 1995, providing full-service graphic design services. She uses a unique blend of research, experience, logic, and gut intuition to implement creative business solutions to today's demanding business world. Jill has guided clients through all stages of the design process to deliver unique products and services for just about every industry. Whether it's design for a special project or an entire marketing plan, she works on the philosophy that the central function of design is to give substance and depth to communication. From project vision, branding strategies, design concepts, to technical requirements and project coordination, Jill's team produces the results you desire for your business.

Her experiences include working with agencies in Detroit, as well as Charlotte, NC and Charleston, SC. Although her primary focus is in industrial business-to-business, she has serviced customers in segments as diverse as medical, professional sports, recreation, community development, education, and non-profit community services. Jill enjoys being connected with the design community, and has a love for motorsports. She is also an avid supporter the Greyhound Rescue community. She has adopted 2 of these beautiful dogs, wild boys Watson (9) and Rocky (6).

Dallas Hull, APR, Associate
Dallas is a certified public relations practitioner (APR) with the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). He is also a member of the association's Counselors Academy. His extensive industrial and business-to-business experience spans more than two decades.

Dallas has a record of providing major industrial clients with high-level media relations, public relations, and strategic communications counsel and account management. His account-service work includes Fortune 500 companies and other major corporations involved in the global materials and related vertical industries. Some of these include GE, M.A. Hanna Company, PolyOne Corporation, Battenfeld GmbH, Cabot Corporation, Warner-Lambert Company, Hoechst Celanese, Teknor Apex Company, Monsanto Corporation, John Brown Machinery, and several U.S. subsidiaries of European-based companies. Dallas is also a translator of technical German and has been working with Peggy Malnati for 17 years.

When Dallas is not working, he is an avid chess player, he meditates, and is a devoted family man. He prefers to play with his 6-year-old daughter, who gives him a run for his money.

Jim Allison, Associate
Jim's specialty is international B2B marketing communications, media and public relations, and corporate communications. He also has expertise in building, staffing, and managing internal and external resources and organizations. His background spans more than 20 years of high-level client and agency-side expertise, working with industry leaders like GE, Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, Warner-Lambert Company, Omnexus, Cabot Corporation, M.A. Hanna Company, PolyOne Corporation, Great Lakes Chemical Corporation, Milliken Chemical, and Conoco. Most of his work currently involves working with Fortune 100 companies and other leading multinationals. Though he prefers money, Jim has been known to work for beer. He has worked closely with Peggy Malnati for almost two decades, which explains his severe nervous twitch. He's recently been in touch with his inner child and now fully trusts the federal government. Barring any further self-inflicted head trauma, doctors expect a full recovery.

The absolute love of Jim's life is his family. He has been married to the same saint person, Cheri, for almost 25 years, and they have two beautiful children: Heather (20) and Jimmy (16). Heather is a junior at Emerson College in Boston, and Jimmy, a sophomore, is actively working his way through high school. Cheri is an award-winning photographer. Among his many hobbies, Jim is an avid outdoorsman and can frequently be found fishing, camping, or hiking the local forests and mountains. He is also an avid reader, with a keen interest in religion, psychology, and cultural anthropology. Many consider him an expert on new religious cults and movements, subjects about which he frequently consults.
